2009_04-10_casettator6_adjustedHere is a frame capture of a nice stovepipe tornado near Cusseta, GA taken by Paul Austin of the WarmSector.com team as they were streaming live video of the April 10, 2009 tornado outbreak!  From the picture, the storm radar presentation, and the incredible wind shear that was in place, I'm guessing this was a very strong tornado.  Thankfully though, this particular tornado did not hit much at peak intensity, and I believe was given an EF1 rating based on the damage survey below.  If anyone has any additional information about this tornado please comment!  The Austins of WarmSector.com will likely be back in action today in the Southeast if things pan out, so stay tuned to the live tracker.

Good job warmsector team for braving the GA terrain... That area dodged a bullet for sure. I was amazed more didn't drop around the Gainseville area. It seems like there was a couplet that passed over that area.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Yeah, it would have been a very photogenic daytime tornado, had it happened earlier. The stream and video capture would have come out better had I used the camera setting I was using earlier. I didn't realize it had reset to default. The damage I saw earlier south of Columbus, GA was, of course, sobering. Prayers go out to all affected.

Nice work there. Thoughts also to those affected, but decent of you to share what you were able. Would you mind giving some comments on the storm prior to what you observed and afterward thanks?

I was watching their feed at approx 715 EDT when it looked like they hit either 2 tornadoes, or a spiral that reformed in 5 minutes into a monster.
Great show!

Great pic to capture the beauty and scariness of a nightime/late evening touchdown. Glad to see the guys were out of harms way and were able to notch another one to the list.
