09april2009_moderateThe Storm Prediction Center has issued a moderate risk for parts of Southeast Kansas, Eastern Oklahoma, and extending into the Ozark Mountain Region overnight.  Low-level and deep layer shear is absolutely incredible, with 200-300 0-1 km helicity values across most of the uncapped warm sector east of the bulging dryline.  TVN is currently targeting Northeast Oklahoma just at the apex of the dryline bulge, where storms should have no problem at all moving off the dryline.  The only negative factor could be limited moisture, but dewpoints in the upper 50s should result in sufficiently low cloud bases and high instability for tornadic supercells.  Stay tuned to the live tracker page as this severe weather situation unfolds!!!

Hey SkyEyeJoe, now i havent got a web cam here but you have guessed the scene here perfectly.
There have been one or two shouts of "LOOK AT THIS !"
Okay perhaps a few more than that. Completely ruined her evenings tv ! Whoops.

David Drummond was certainly in the thick of it earlier.
Looked like pretty well continuous lightning to me.
All very exciting

Updraft,

I've described the scene perfectly because I almost live it exactly - only reversed. I'm sure my Mister would love a dollar for everytime I've hollered out something brilliant like, "Whoa! Look at that lowering they're heading for!" or..."Hey. Come and look at this - these guys are insane!"
And I greatly admire David Drummond's style of chasing. Stealthy.
I look forward to comparing more of our notes on the effects of our TVN addiction on our domestic lives.
