As the sun began to set last evening (June 22, 2012), TVN storm chasers Reed Timmer, Dick McGowan, Chris Chittick and Chad Cowan intercepted a violent tornado over country in extreme southwestern South Dakota! With the Dominator in the shop undergoing engine repairs, the crew was forced to chase without the protection of its Lexan windows. Massive hail (which Reed describes as the largest he has ever see) being driven by hurricane-force winds in the near-tornado environment blew out several windows on their vehicle as they remained focused on documenting one of 2012's most photogenic tornadoes--check out their video, below!
