The threat of severe weather returns to the Plains today, especially along the Red River Valley region on the TX-OK border. Temperatures over portions of southern Oklahoma and north Texas are expected to climb into the mid to upper 70's, which will allow instability to build in time for of the arrival of decent wind shear. Storms should initiate this afternoon from the Dallas area all the way into east-central Oklahoma. Temperatures aloft will be very cold, so large, damaging hail will likely be the main threat today, but tornadoes and intense straight-line winds will also be possible. There will likely be a number of chasers in the field this afternoon, so don't forget to follow along on the Live page!
