In the wake of the record-setting snowstorm Saturday, another powerful storm system is taking shape in the Pacific Northwest.  This system will set it sights on the Central U.S., impacting the Plains states Wednesday and bringing a chance for snow in the Central Plains with severe weather possible in Texas and Louisiana.  Then, on Thursday, the activity will shift east with heavy snowfall possible in Iowa/South Dakota/Minnesota and a chance of severe weather in Louisiana/Mississippi.  Though it's still too early to tell what type of severe weather might occur, the extreme wind shear and weak instability brought in the by the system means there could be a chance of supercells and even tornadoes.

Meanwhile, snowfall amounts in the Central and Northern Plains are likely to range from 8-20 inches, which combined with strong winds could produce near-blizzard conditions.  However, depending on the eventual track of the storm system, this region of heavy snowfall could shift further south and impact parts of the Southern Plains and Mid-Mississippi Valley.  Stay tuned to TornadoVideos.net for more updates on the progress of this powerful storm system!
