Classic westerly-flow lake effect bands have persisted east of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario today and this evening, with 1-3 inch per hour snowfall rates likely at the heart of the snow bands. Storm total accumulations of 1-3 feet will be likely across Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie Counties in western NY, and Oswego County east of Lake Ontario.
