A very cold, late season upper low is forecasted to affect a large section of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Snow elevation could come down as far as 3000 ft, and snowfall accumulations will exceed one foot in some of the higher elevations! The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings from the mountains along the California/Oregon border south to near east of Bakersfield and the Tehachapi Pass. Winds will also be particularly strong along the front range, where gusts near 40 mph can be expected.

Can't believe we're still talking snow! We've had here in the NE an exceptional run of warm temps and beautiful sunny days.

i live in tahoe area and it is right now 1:00 am mon 4/12/10. so far very little snow has accumalated at the 6300' level. and by what i see on local radar i really dont expect much more. in my yard where there are no trees i have 2" of new snow. this storm is nowhere near as powerful as last weeks storm. but please keep tabs on my area and i will post updates accordingly

now its 10:00am and now more accumalation of snow since 1:ooam and light winds. heavy winds due in an hr or so. most snowfall has been on west slope appearantly. but that isnt so uncommon either. it is lightly snowing now. to get visuals you can go to caltrans/webcams.com or any number of googled lake tahoe sites.
