2.25.10.namsfcThe latest in a series of coastal lows is gathering strength today, as the "weekly nor'easter" prepares to impact the central Atlantic states from now into the weekend. Heavy snow is anticipated over parts of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, with some areas likely to pick up 18" or more. Very strong winds will be a big problem in addition to the snow, with blizzard warnings likely later today and tomorrow. Needless to say, people in the threatened area should prepare for power outages and to be "snowed in." What a crazy winter for the east coast!!!

I feel bad for the people in the NE. There is no way you should pick 60" of snow (an estimate).

Let me know how everyone out there is doing. I've had my city at a stand-still snow fall, but nothing like you have.

Stay safe!

Not bad near Philadelphia so far, been snowing all day, but lightly so it hasn't really been sticking. Its suppose to pick up this evening and tonight, about 8 inches or so. It sure has been a crazy winter, over 70" so far, which is alot for here. And I was just starting to see parts of my lawn again yesterday. :P

Im from Rochester, NY, and so far at 5pm thursday, we've only picked up maybe an inch. Out local weather teams are still unsure of total accumulations (est. 3-20" if snow), some are speculating of 65+ mph wind gusts! After looking at the weather models and whatnot. I'm gonna guess at 7-10" over the next 24 hours for Rochester and winds not to top over 35 at all. Our weather teams suck.

Even scarier, I work at a local Goodyear Tire and Service Center, it's scary the number of people driving with low treads on the tires. Everyone please be careful if you are affected by the storm or wherever you may be

Thankfully not alot of damage, we wound up with 14" of snow in my town of Irondequoit, winds stayed low around 25. Our DOT people are good and the morning commute yesterday was only 3-5 minutes longer than normal.
