Yet another system is moving into the Mississippi River valley, this time in the form of a compact, shortwave trough that already affected a large area of the northern Plains. Parts of eastern Nebraska are currently under blizzard warnings, and numerous states are under winter storms warnings and winter weather advisories through today and tomorrow. Strong vorticity advection with this system is leading to the possibility of over one foot accumulations in places such as southern Indiana and southern Ohio!

+1 #4 mmancuso1018 2010-02-15 14:33 Finally, the snow is missing us in South Jersey, at least they say so. 4-8 inches up North, only 1-2 inches South. But with this Winter, you never know!!

0 #5 brandynlonghauser 2010-02-19 18:25 I was one of the people in Southern Ohio, and we have all of our snow days used up for our high school. We had near 2 ft. of snow on flat surfaces, 4 ft. snow drifts, and over 7 ft. piles of snow if not bigger. We are getting slammed over and over by storms and its all thanks to the jetstream. We even now have a chance of freezing rain and snow this Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Hopefully we dont have much longer to go until we get above freezing! It looks like it might be by mid-next week!

0 #6 Paul_Austin 2010-02-22 21:39 Hopefully, warmer, spring-like weather is on its way. We got stuck in Dallas and had to drive to the National Storm Chaser Convention held in Denver, CO overnight - 14 hrs total. Here's what it looked like at DFW International: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If2i4wWPYXE

This airport is certainly not equipped to deal with 12+ inches of snow.
