Yet another historic winter storm is impacting the U.S., as the system that produced yesterday's record snowfall over north Texas continues east. This system produced an unheard-of 10-14" of snow across the Dallas, TX area, causing major travel and safety issues. The DFW airport itself measured over 12" of snow! Today, the cold airmass that has settled in across the south will combine with deep gulf moisture again, bringing parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida their first snowfall in recent memory. Some areas of MS and AL are expecting moderate accumulation in the 3-5" range, and central into northern Louisiana has already picked up 4-6"! Jim Walker will be streaming from the Florida Panhandle area, so be sure to check out the Live page for a rare sight of snow in Florida!
