Here is a sneak peek of some video you'll see on Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers this Fall! This is from the May 13, 2009 Kirksville, MO tornado intercept from the northwest side of town. The pattern looks to be finally becoming active, so stay tuned for more updates as TVN deploys the full ground and aerial field project this month! http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/storm-chasers-into-the-tornado.html

Re:More video from inside the tornado!
May 29 2009 19:00:43 Better yet, why not just point your vehicle so that it's facing away from the tornado and then "BACK UP!!!!!" into it!

More video from inside the tornado!
May 30 2009 02:50:40 never under estimate the power of "BACK UP!!! " lol. ive said that many a chase follwed by the term " Dale ....ur an idiot" lol. storm chasing is addictive and mesmerizing. like seeing the rocky mountains for the first time. you can see all the pics you like but when your up close and personal...you cant capture that with anything...other than screaming histarically " BACK UP!!" and the half hour adrenalin rush you try to come down from after lol.

Also, why did they stop & set-up UNDERNEATH power lines?? If those puppies fell wouldn't all of the equipment shorted out .. I don't EVEN want to think what could have happened to Reed and company!
What happened to the "Follow" vehicle? Was everyone ok? Did they get footage from inside the tornado, too?
Soon I am going to have to find a SCA meeting to go to....that being a Storm Chasers Anonymous
Most of this was from the production vehicle; some of the video at the end may have been from the SRV though (can't tell for sure). The audio is, obviously, all from the SRV though. Pretty good tease for Storm Chasers, I'd say! ;)
