Here are pictures of the new darker color of the TVN research vehicle, because the older bright red color would over distort the cameras.  Also shown here are some of the video electronics installed in the vehicle by the production crew, as well as the probe deployment tray.  The guy with the camera is our camera operator/producer Chris Whiteneck, a veteran cameraman for Discovery's Deadlest Catch and Dirty Jobs.  How does everyone like the new color??  At least it will be less distracting on the road!

I think it is awesome that it looks so utilitarian on the outside, but on the inside....brand new Tahoe, with a few modifications to help it on its mission.

Not to compare it to Sean Casey's TIV, because they are not intended for the same purpose, but it HAS to be much more comfortable to be in for hours on end. TIV2 did look better than the old TIV though.

Coming from someone who has loved custom automobiles all his life, congratulations on its completion and I hope it does all you need it to do and more.

Less distracting indeed, it had a bit of a toy feel when it was the extremely bright red. All the electronics rigged up makes it feel pretty awesome and hi-tech. In the future I'd like to see a custom graphic paint job with TVN Dominator written on it ;p

Hey Reed, love the new color. I'd agree with xmesox...it did have a toy-like feel when it was brighter red. Looks great!!

Just wanted to say, this is one of the most entertaining websites on the net IMO. I love the new live feed setup. It's very innovative. The dominator is too cool and I look forward to seeing it in action. I absolutely enjoy and appreciate what yall are doing. BTW, is it just me, or does Reed look just like the mascot for the DAD (Disaster Alert Display) advertised on the home page? ;-)

Looks a helluva lot better than it did. At least you went from Nebraska Cornhusker colors to OU Sooner colors.

I think Sean Casey is gonna get very jealous...

He already is! On the last ep of SC when the tvn team passed him he mentioned the tvn guys 'drive like idiots', a couple of episodes back was he not directing the tiv eastbound on the westbound highway?!?! Now that's an idiot! N x

It's funny that every time Sean is in a prime spot. Reed is already in the area and they drive right by Sean. :D

Sean might even ditch the Dow! :) head with the Dominator! The DOW is a great tool though! Just Like the TIV'S and the Dominator. -Brandon

I like it guys, but I still can't help but think its WAY too much like the TIV. Though as much as I love Sean yours is way more constructive. Hopefully you and Sean will hook up this season!! :-) We all know its gonna be a crazy season. It already has been!!!
