fileBlizzard Warnings have been posted across the majority of Nebraska, where heavy snow is now falling across central Nebraska north of Interstate 80. Forecasted accumulations out of the North Platte, NE NWS office are expected to be 12"+ in some areas north of I-80. Power outages are also being reported in North Platte at this time via the local TV station.

untitledOn the other side of this system, the warm sector, and maybe not 100 miles from the blizzard warnings, tornadoes have been reported today! The models must have under-forecasted the moisture return, because evidentily the environment was favorable enough for tornadoes to develop. Stay tuned!

Yeah, it was a classic cold core set up earlier today... moisture was marginal but obviously enough for low topped convection along the dry line and near the vicinity of the surface low.

For me in Norfolk Nebraska the storm wasnt as bad as they said it would get. They we calling for a round 8 inches and we got an inch at most. I thing the main reason for this was the rain swiched over to snow a lot latter than what was expected.
