TVN made an all night grind, leaving Norman, OK at 8 p.m. Monday night and stopping only for gas--eventually chasing a tornadic supercell in northern Divide county, North Dakota and intercepting the first of 5 tornadoes! It was evident that the tornado threat would reside along an occluded boundary/ warm front very near the Canadian border in northern North Dakota, where low-level shear was maximized and dewpoints/ cloud bases were lower. We watched 4 other tornadoes, 2 of which crossed into Saskatchewan, Canada within just a couple of miles! We, unfortunately, could not cross the border and had to watch them from the border crossing! Check out our video below!
