Check out this photo from Extreme Tornado Tour's own, Olivier Stagier, of a meteor from last this weekend's Orionid meteor shower! It was taken on October 21, 2011, just before the shower's peak, from the Crans-Montana region of the Swiss Alps; Olivier said it was visible for 4 seconds and streaked across the sky from right-to-left out of frame! At peak, the shower had as many as 26 meteors per hour for those who were patient enough to watch them.
Tonight is episode of 5 of Storm Chasers, which airs at its usual time of 10/9 E/C on the Discovery Channel. I was woken up from a nap, from a panicked Reed, and ended up having a very close encounter with a sunset tornado near Ada, OK. Tune in to see what happens! As always, tell us what you think of this week's episode! Next week's episode will feature a deadly tornado outbreak in Oklahoma, where the TVN team intercepted 6 photogenic tornadoes, including one aimed directly for Reed and Joel's house!
