Tonight, the season 4 "Storm Chasers" finale airing on the Discovery Channel at 10/9 p.m. Central.  It features multiple tornadoes from June 17th
in and around the town of Wadena, MN.  The TVN team witnessed numerous tornadoes this day, including a pair of EF-4 tornadoes on two supercells.  The TVN team didn't see any other storm chasers out that day...until, out of nowhere, the TIV appeared!  You couldn't ask for a better "Storm Chasers" finale, and this episode-- you do NOT want to miss!  Above are photographs I took of the first EF-4 tornado that passed just south of Deer Creek, Minnesota (and is featured in the 2011 TVN calendar).  Unfortunately, there were fatalities, serious injuries and a lot of property was damaged during this huge tornado outbreak in Minnesota.  Our thoughts and prayers are still with the victims of these violent tornadoes.

Also, today we're announcing the beginning of our Second Annual Twelve Days of TVN!  Each day will feature deeply discounted items, and today we're starting with some great items -- Reed's book: Into the Storm, Target Practice T-shirts, and Tornado Extravaganza 2009!  At it's lowest price ever of $18.95 for ONE DAY ONLY!  Into the Storm makes a great Holiday gift for your favorite Storm Chasers fan (autographed copies are also available). We value the support of all our fans and wish you and yours a wonderful Holiday Season!

And last, but certainly not least, share your thoughts below on tonight's season finale!

Tonight was the last ep about the 2010 Chase Season. BUT there is still one last episode to go!! Last time this year I was pushing for an After The Chase Ep. No luck there so far, but we are going to see a Behind the Chase ep! We will get to see the cameras being rigged and hear from the people behind the lenses for Discovery!!

Meanwhile, Reed & his TVN team successfully deployed both the Probes (didn't see if they got the probes back though...) AND the Radar in that last Monster of the season!

Reed also called the monster in on 911 which may have contributed to the timing of the sirens sending folks to seek safety.

Sean Finally Finished his IMAX!! I wanna see it!!

As always, Tim Samaras and his team were a class act.

Seeing the devastation the tornado left behind leaves us with the reason for all the insanity of chasing. This time the TIV's medic was seen making the difference for someone. If the teams have their way, there will be sufficient warning time to give residents the needed opportunity to get to safety.

All deployed probes were recovered.

Edit:

Oh yeah - I forgot this part:

I hope the data set was good and provided the info Reed was searching for.

Yes, Sean did wuss out. But it sounds like he got all the shots he needed to finish the IMAX. I want to see it.

Not to take attention off of Wadena (as they DID have a horrible tornado), but please don't forget those of us who went thru the EF4 twin (down in Blue Earth/Freeborn county). We sustained alot of damage as well...and sadly a fatality. The big difference? Wadena's tornado plowed thru the city, the one down south kind of skirted four cities (Keister, Alden, Conger, and Albert Lea). As I said, not to diminish the awareness of Wadena, but also to remember the one that hit to the south (and on a humorous note, left us with Tornado Hombre).

Definitely another amazing season!!! Major kudos to all the crews out there and all the heroes who helped save lives! Congrats on all the intercepts and video. For all of the people effected throughout the country by severe weather, I will continue to keep you in my thoughts. I hope all those places in Minnesota effected that day are doing ok. I was able to watch several of those tornadoes live via streaming video and while I was excited to see them, I was also worried for those in the path. Lets hope we dont get major tornadoes in towns and cities next year. Looking forward already to Stormchasers 2011!

Thanks for another "edge of the seat" season, guys. I appreciate the scientific slant to the latest chases. When will the data from the probe(s) be available? I look forward to next season.

Great season guys and incredible finale. All of you did a great job. I am glad you also showed everyone that spotters/chasers don't just chase, we are also first responders. I too live in Oklahoma and share the same passion of the weather as you. Keep up the great work.

Great finale! But it brought back memories from that day. Tragedy struck 35 miles east of me, and everytime we drive to my Grandma's house, we pass by the town that had its convenience store destroyed. I love extreme weather as much as the next person, but driving by an empty lot where something once stood really put a lot of things into perspective. Digressing, as I have said before, I am so glad that not all chasers care about just the storms, and guys like you care about the humanity of it all. I thank you guys for that.

Tonight's episode was epic! Got to see some monsters this season. I like how this season was more drama and tragedy. Not saying tragedy or drama is good thing. But it does happen and people fight/live through it. Props to everyone who makes Storm Chasers happen! You guys and gals rock!

By far one of your best seasons. Edge of your seat. It must be very hard to keep the love of chasing and the losses (as seen in last nights finale)of life & property apart. It really is hard to watch, when a tornado as large as that one was, enters a town and leaves utter destruction in its path. A hugh pat on the backs to all of the teams, TVN, TIV & Tim S.. Hopefully all teams gathered some very important stats from all of the equipment deployed.

That episode brought a lot of questions.

Will Sean be chasing next season? As he said he has his IMAX film done.

We didn't see much of Vortex 2 this year, and I'm glad. Will we see any of them at all next year? (Hopefully not)

Awesome season. I'd love to see it more than 8 episodes next year. It feels too short!

@khristopher: To answer one of your questions, V2 was only 2009, 2010 seasons. Although Josh Wurman does have chase operations on the plains to the best of my knowledge yearly. Hope it helps some.

I went up to Wadena about a week after it happened, with one of my friends, because she is from around there. The town got hit hard, the show didn't show the worst part of town. I am glad they didn't because it brings back the memories from there. The school got torn down and they are building a new one. It was a great finale.

That was an awesome season, but Im sad that it is over because now I have to wait another year. I think the tvn team did pretty good this season. They really stepped up and contributed alot to science. Congrats tvn and can't wait to see what yall come up with next!!
