Severe weather and tornadoes will be likely today in Louisianna and Mississippi as a potent trough progresses across the region. Strong mid and upper level winds, combined with surface dewpoints climbing into the lower to mid 60's will set the stage for vigorous thunderstorm development  during the afternoon. The most likely area for tornadoes would be along the northward lifting warm front that should extend across extreme southeastern Arkansas, northeastern Louisiana, through central Mississippi during the afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has issue a 10% hatched risk for tornadoes in the mentioned areas (see image below). Stay tuned to TornadoVideos.net for updates on this potenial tornado outbreak. day1probotlk_1200_torn

I suggest don't go to far north-east for those who planned to see a tornado. Stick to going east and wait to see if the storm changes direction. If it hits the predicted area, all you have to do is either go south-west to Monroe, move a little bit towards south-east to Jackson or move north-west to Pine Bluff if the storm stays on course. If you stay in Greenville, Mississippi on the border to Arkansas, you can move freely to get to the storm as quickly as possible.

I should be doing school work... How ever a little worried about the cloud cover not much instability right now. Very strong cap later hopefully the clouds will go away if a supercell develops it could be big!

Just an FYI here...Reed is currently in NYC - nowhere near the outlook area.
Stay frosty down there, Caleb! :-?

Keep on the ball Caleb. You never quite know when it comes to weather. Stay safe. :-)

To those who rated thumbs down on my comment, look at where the storm moved at 1620. There's a storm rotation report just south of Monroe where I suggested to move if it moves south. Now there's rotation and think before rating comments PLZ. Not enough rotation for a tornado to touch down but 33 mph in november is something special.

I believe it had a tad more to do with your making suggestions on where Reed should go, actually. That being 'said', good job on predicting what NWS/SPC has been predicting.
Now, since folks are currently losing their homes and perhaps their lives, perhaps this blog should be kept on subject, yes??
