24jan2010_oksnow 24jan2010_oksnow2The 18z GFS is showing a 20+ inch winter storm for the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma, and through the Ozark Mountain Region by Thursday night, January 28.  Forecast high temperatures on Thursday are sub-freezing from east-central New Mexico through the MO Bootheel, so if this model run verifies, we're going to have blizzard #2 for the Southern Plains!  Stay tuned for updates as more model forecast data becomes available.  We'll be streaming this storm live for sure if these models verify...

Such a strange winter. Here in Toronto we've had 24 cm all winter. I've never seen such a green winter in all the years I've lived here.

Oh,joy!! :o
I know we can count on Mr. Drummond to stream some lovely snow-stormage for us. It'll be interesting to see who else will venture out into the white abyss. Thanks for the head's up.

I sure am glad I have three dogs. Looks like a three dog night! Get it Jo? "Three Dog Night". No... I really DO have three dogs!
I need to snuggle!
Love to all... Uncle Jim

Kristopher... When I saw the wooly worms putting on their long handles, I knew that we were in for a hard winter here in Oklahoma. I've heard other Canadians say the same thing about your winter. Is the term... "A strong southern blast of cold air from Oklahoma is due in tomorrow evening" a dreaded term to be heard in your part of the country?

Looks like TVN will be streaming live footage of this very snowy event. I can't wait to see it. Good Luck Reed.

It sure has been a strange winter. Near Philly, just the one big snowstorm before Christmas, and that all melted in a week. Other than that not much at all. Its 60 degrees here today but will be turning colder. Waiting to see where all the snow from the midwest ends up this weekend when it reaches the East Coast.

NWS just issued Miami, OK a winter storm watch.

"4 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. A QUARTER TO HALF INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION FROM FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE..."

Bring it on!
