Here is more video from the 2009 Christmas Eve blizzard, but from one of the hardest hit areas, Norman, OK, as nearly a foot of snow fell with 60+ mph wind gusts.  All interstates were shut down, and a 50 car pile-up happened near Midwest City at the peak of the storm trapping people in their vehicles.  This video was shot by veteran storm chaser Gabe Garfield.

That even *sounds* frigid! Hats off to the Good Samaratins who were helping the stuck drivers.

0 #2 Unclejim 2009-12-25 16:13 I'm just afraid you have the right of it, Dougie! I donned my woolen nickers and camped out in my recliner. ALL day!

0 #3 blackbelt36 2009-12-25 18:52 Reed, someone told me today that someone predicted the Northeast will get pounded again with snow around new years based on the current weather pattern. Have you heard anything about that?

0 #4 mmancuso1018 2009-12-27 12:25 I've also heard that there may be a big snowstorm around New Years in the Northeast. We had two foot of snow last weekend, and it all melted and washed away yesterday with lots of rain and temperature in the mid 50's! What a difference a week can make!! But its back to Winter tomorrow.
